DIENO, Ronald Henry
February 9, 1953 – July 13, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Dieno on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 59. Ron is lovingly remembered by his brothers Alvin Dieno and Harvey Dieno and by his sisters Verna Meloche, Alvera Protasivich, Carol Degrand, Sharon Parnitzky, Dolores Chamberlain, Brenda Keller, and their families. He is predeceased by his parents Henry and Ella Dieno.
Ron was the youngest of nine children born to Henry and Ella Dieno. He was born on February 9, 1953 in Watrous, SK. His family moved to Kerrobert, SK in 1963 and settled on the family farm west of town. As a young man, Ron resided and worked on the family farm. He spent his summers farming and visiting with his family. Each summer his siblings would visit with their families and Ron always took pleasure in teaching his nieces and nephews about life on the farm, and spoiling them with treats in town. He had a love of country music which he passed along to many of his nieces and nephews.
Ron enjoyed playing pool at the local pool hall as well as playing card games with family and friends. He loved to visit and to entertain those around him with stories about his family and with the occasional joke. Ron was well known in the community for his kindness, his positive approach to life and sense of humour and his generous spirit. He was always willing and eager to help those around him in any way he could.
A memorial service for Ron will be held on Saturday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Luseland SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society of Canada ( P.O. Box 29018 Saskatoon, SK, S7N 4Y2 TEL: 1-888-685-0059
