It is with heavy hearts that the family of Andy Anderson announces his passing on Monday, November 20, 2012 at the age of 91 years. Andy will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Roberta; his children Heather (Bill), Maureen (Jens), Bill (Brenda) and Sandy (Dave); grandchildren Dena, Kelly, Michelle, Todd, Chantelle, Doran, Elena, Davin, Brett and Curtis; 14 great- grandchildren, as well as a caring extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Becky; his first wife Kate and his daughter, Denise. Born in Greenock, Scotland, Andy moved with his family to Saskatoon at the age 2. He took his schooling in Saskatoon and at the age 18 years old enlisted in the R.C.A.F., at which time he was dispatched overseas. His service in World War II with the Spitfire 412 Squadron as a Flight Sergeant resulted in many medals and he was highlighted in 2009 when he was invited to be a guest on the war documentary, "Canada Remembers Their Achievements and Sacrifices". Upon returning home from the war, Andy worked for the National Research Council in Saskatoon for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Retirement years were spent enjoying many good times at Anglin Lake and also in Arizona. A Celebration of Andy's Life will be held at Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, SK) on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment of Andy's cremated remains will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery – Veteran's Section. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Kurtis Rae of Acadia-McKague's Funeral
Centre (955-1600). In place of flowers donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion. Condolences may
be sent to the family by visiting www.acadiamckaguesfuneralcentre.com.
