Lorne was born in Lucky Lake hospital to Iola Theoline and Edward Joseph Bartzen of Birsay, SK. He completed his grade 12 at Birsay, SK. He came to Saskatoon and worked at the airport for one and a half years. He became a plumber and worked for Banff National Parks for many years. Later he moved to Calgary and worked for the city. He lived in Alberta for about 40 years. He had two airplanes and really enjoyed flying. Lorne had an inquisitive mind and liked to see how things worked. He is survived by his brother Jerry (Bonnie) Bartzen and children Lowell and Casey; and Carrianne McInnis and her son Tommy; Doree (Jon) Giesbrecht and children Mackenzie, Brynn and Layke; his sister Elvina Pray and her family, Dayna (Al and Dawson) Keller, Andrea (Brent) Pittman and children Anthony, Andrew and Bronwyn, Darin (Dawn) Pray and Christopher (Lisa) Henry, Michael, Darren and Tyler Henry.
