Wilma (Willy) Mills
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, accidental, passing of Wilma (Willy) Mills on September 27, 2013. Wilma was a special person to family and friends. She was a gentle soul who loved children and took very special care of her many nieces, nephews, their children and the children of friends. Wilma loved to travel and was happiest when she was going anywhere with her sisters. She had many special trips with them, including a bus trip to the Maritimes, cruises, Disney and car trips to Alberta and BC. Her many friends at McNaughten Place loved to hear all the details of her travels. She was fiercely independent and was often refusing help if offered: "I do it myself". Her courage was astonishing. Whenever somebody tried to bully her or make fun of her she would not hesitate to stand up for herself and never let it stop her from doing anything that she wanted to do. Wilma was a founding member of the Faith Baptist Church in Saskatoon and was a loyal supporter of TeleMiracle and cancer fund raisers. Many organizations helped Wilma with her daily life, including Elmwood Lodge, Sherbrooke Community Centre and Young at Heart and the Abilities Council. Her sisters and other members of her family were gentle caregivers over the years, always ensuring Wilma had everything she needed, including love. Wilma was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Cynthia, several siblings (George, Eleanor, Edith, Betty, Jessie, Tom, Jack, and Rosemary), numerous brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She is survived by sisters Kay, Mona, Ethel, Janet, Pat and Candace (Dale) and many special nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kinsmen TeleMiracle. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Westwood Funeral Chapel (1402 20th Street West). Condolences may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to WESTWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL (306-653-3434).
