Benjamin Batters
June 5, 2002 – December 25, 2013
We are heartbroken to announce the death of our son Benjamin Alan Batters, six months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, at 11 years of age. Benjamin had a wonderful spirit and love of life, and this translated into a very well lived 11 years. Benjamin enjoyed many things, including playing the piano, playing hockey, working with his dad or his grandpa, hanging out with his friends, playing with his siblings, and travelling to Phoenix. He had a lot of fun. Benjamin was predeceased by his grandfather, Elgin Batters. He is survived by his parents, Alan Batters and Donna Cross, his brothers Lane and Emerson and his sister Hazel, his grandparents Lane and Jeanette Cross of Kipling, grandparents Kathie and Norm Miller of Regina, grandparent Joyce Parker of Kipling. He is survived by all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins: David and Kristen Batters (Nixen), Kipling, SK, Shelley Schutz (Jaida, Gracie, Halle), Carlyle, SK, Barbara Cross, Regina, Judy Cross and Doug Hogan (Kayla, Lucas), Saskatoon, SK, Nancy and Pat Hollman (Emily, Matthew), Macklin, SK, Mary and Ronald Henrion (Calvin, Amy, Jessica) Redvers, SK, and Elaine Cross and Rob Smales (Frances), Vancouver, SK. The funeral service will be held in the Kipling Recreation Centre, Kipling, SK. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Janet Sigurdson officiating. A private family interment will be held in the Lansdowne Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be made at www.tubmanfh.com.
