Roald BUVIK

BUVIK, Roald K.
Roald Kermit Hartvick Buvik was born in Kandahar, SK on March 6, 1929 to parents Jens and Stella Buvik. He passed away in Winnipeg, MB on July 21, 2014. Roald received his schooling at Big Quill and Foote public schools south of Kandahar and completed grade 12 at the Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute in Outlook, SK. He attended Normal School and taught school in Raymore, SK for several years. In 1950, he and his parents and sister Selma settled in Saskatoon. Roald was employed at the City Hospital. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and received a B.Comm. in 1959. After his father died in 1960, Roald and his mother moved to Winnepeg to be near Stella's daughters Judith Schaitel and Selma Domier. Roald was predeceased by twin sister Signe and Sigrid in 1920, father Jens in 1960, mother Stella in 1976, brother Douglas in 1993, sister Judith in 1998 and sister Selma in 1999. He will be missed by his nieces Linda Lowry and Sharon Domier, nephews Calvin Domier and Darryl Schaitel, brother-in-law Kenneth Domier and extended family.
