Martha SKOWORODKO Obituary
Martha was born in Poplar Bluff, SK on June 27, 1935. She passed away and joined the Lord her Savior on June 19, 2017 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Martha grew up on the farm and then with her parents and siblings moved to Benito, MB. From there she moved to Saskatoon and found a handsome, wonderful man, Steve. Steve and Martha began their marriage as missionaries in Meadow Lake, North Battleford and then Hyas before finally settling in Saskatoon. Martha was employed at the Hudson's Bay Company for 20 years where she enjoyed meeting and helping customers. Steve and Martha's marriage of 62 years brought them their sons Lawrence (Marlene), Dennis (Karen); grandchildren Steven (Michelle) and Andrea (Brad) and their great-grandchildren Jackson, Tyler, Noah and Danika. Martha was a wonderful hostess, cook, baker and gardener. Children adored Martha as she made them the centre of her attention. She was a wonderful friend, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves to mourn her sisters Violet (Paul) Ulaniuk, Elsie Senchuk and brother Alex (Dorothy) Soloway, many nieces and nephews and extended family and her adopted family, the Cliffs. Martha was predeceased by her parents Mary and Fred Soloway, four brothers and a precious daughter-in-law, Wanda. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Slavic Gospel Mission. The funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church 1636 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements in care of MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME

Dear Pastor Steve & Family:
You will never believe the shock I received when I read about Martha's passing. I do not receive the paper and go to the library every second or third day to use the computer. I know that she is truly with the Lord and I know that HE will sustain and uphold you until you are all together once again. She was a beautiful lady, a wonderful friend and I will always remember her BORSCHT! All My Love and Prayers.

We are so saddened to hear of Martha's passing. As a family we will miss her. She represented to us a mother, grandmother figure. She embraced our whole clan over the last 22 years. She walked out life with us. We adored her honesty and strength of character. We will miss the conversations over scrumptious tea parties, she delighted in hosting despite her pain and health conditions. She has s finally free of pain and sorrow.
