Wesley Lee Anderson

MUNCIE - Wesley Lee Anderson passed away on August 9, 2017, at the age of 92. 

Wes was born in Vinton, Virginia on November 29, 1924, the son of the late Hayward Christian Anderson and Minnie Roberson Anderson. 

He was a World War II veteran serving in Anzio, Italy and receiving the Purple Heart. He earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech University, having worked for the Ball Corporation and later retiring from the Indiana Department of Health. 

Wes was a long-time member of the Calvary Roseville United Methodist Church in East Orange, New Jersey. 

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; brother, Roy Laughlin; son Jon Anderson, daughters, Leigh Schenkelberg, and Jan Anderson; grandchildren, Zachary, Lindsay, Mahali, Evan, and Christopher. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion during our father's illness. 

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. 

In honor of Wesley, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 9785 Crosspoint Blvd. Indianapolis, Indiana 46256. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
