Muncie - Joseph Lamar Johnson was born on February 4, 1979 in Muncie, Indiana to Myron Paul and Brenda Kay (Balfour) Johnson. He departed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 38.
Raised in Muncie, Joseph attended local community schools including Ivy Tech Community College. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and had plans to open his own construction company within the year. Joseph's creative and artistic side showed in many areas of his life. He had impeccable style and his shoe game was always on point. He loved driving fly cars and restoring them too. In addition, he was a high skilled artist, apparent in his love for drawing and the houses he rehabbed.
Kindhearted and compassionate are words family and friends used to describe Joey Crackk as he was affectionately called. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Joseph was an active, loving father of seven children all which he treasured, each one having their own unique bond with him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, two daughters; Brenda and Kanisha, five sons; Jaron, Joe'siah, Joe'seph, Royal Paul and Carmello Lamar, his mother and stepfather Brenda and Robert (Bobby) McCoy, three brothers, Myron Paul and Damon; his best friend David; one sister Dana Michelle, grandparents Levern Clay and Robert "Sonny" Davis, a very special friend Erin McKay and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Joey was preceded in death by his father Myron Paul Johnson, grandparents; Ruth Turner, Bill Johnson, Anna Lou Brown, Joe Willie Brown and uncles; Bruce Wayne Johnson and David Johnson.
Services to celebrate his life will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Carmichael Funeral Services, Inc.
