William (Bill) Payer, 68

SELMA - William (Bill) Payer, 68, passed away at home Friday, November 11, 2016 with his loving family by his side after his fight with cancer.

He was born July 2, 1948 in Cheboygan, MI, to William and Rachel (Priest) Payer. He was raised in Petoskey, MI where he married his high school sweetheart, Patty Lane on June 8, 1968.

William moved to Indiana in 1971, where he worked at Thomas Business Machine and Muncie Typewriter Exchange as Office Machine Technician for forty-one years.

When he retired, Bill and Pat drove to Alaska and spent six weeks vacationing there. Bill loved to fish, bowl, play pool and golf. He also enjoyed yelling at the Colts and at NASCAR drivers. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and grandkids.

William is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Patricia Payer, Selma; two children, Richard Willy Payer, Parma, OH and Chris (James) Jones, Muncie; four grandchildren, Jamie (Andrew) Jaggers, Middletown, Maleena (Weston) Reed, Muncie, Jerry and Dylan Payer, Parma, OH; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Beau, and Addison, Middletown; two sisters, Diane Berlinski, Gaylord, MI and Debbie (Tom) Jabalinski, Colorado Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill asks that all of his friends drink a beer in his honor.

Friends and family may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

A private celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
