Helen Arledge Hanson CAMDEN - A private graveside service will be held, celebrating the life of Helen Frances Arledge Hanson of Camden, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Hanson, widow of Charles Parker Hanson, Sr., died Monday, March 17, 2014. She was born in Bishopville, SC, May 18, 1923, and was a daughter of the late Celena Brown Arledge Sharpe and Isaac Arledge. She was a member of McRae Road Church of Christ, Camden, SC. She is survived by her daughters, Celena Hanson Jones of Camden, SC, and Cynthia Hanson Mathis (Doyle) of Cleveland, SC; and sons, Charles Parker Hanson, Jr. of Elgin, SC, and Craig Dean Hanson (Pam) of Mt. Juliet, TN; granddaughter, Megan (Justin); and grandsons, Scott Hanson, CJ Hanson (Dana), Ryan Mathis (Lindsey) and David Mathis; great-granddaughter, McKenna, and great-grandson, Daniel; sister-in-law, Wilma Harris Arledge. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Jordan, and brothers, Billy and John Arledge, and daughter-in-law, Karen Cohoon Hanson. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that memorials may be made in Mrs. Hanson's memory to Karesh Long Term Care Activities Fund, P.O. Box 7003, Camden, SC 29021.
