Marshall James Steele Jr. WINNSBORO - Funeral services for Marshall J. Steele, Jr.(Jimmy), age 78, of Winnsboro, SC will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Crooked Run Baptist Church, 7978 State Highway 269, Winnsboro, SC with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Steele will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Steel passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home. Born in Pamplico, SC, he was the son of the late Marshall James Steele, Sr. and Ellis Hyman Steele both of Pamplico, SC. Jimmy was a member of Crooked Run Baptist Church in Winnsboro, SC and was founder and owner of Jimmy's Automatic Transmission in Columbia. He was a hardworking small businessman, who loved the business he had built and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle. He was such a giving person and always helped those in need. Most of all, he will be remembered for his quick, humorous wit. Even in declining health, he never lost his sense of humor. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who is survived by his loving wife, Carrie E. Steele, one son, Marshall James Steele, III of Prosperity; one daughter, Lenora Steele Ross (Wade) of Columbia; three grandchildren, Olivia Steele Newton (Tim) of West Columbia, Daniel Guyton of Irmo, and Marshall Guyton (Ashley) of Columbia; and great-grandchild Kaitlynn Guyton of Columbia. Along with his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Smith of Charlotte, NC.
