Jalin Tyler Palmer COLUMBIA - Funeral services for Mr. Jalin Tyler Palmer will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the Leevy's Funeral Home, Taylor Street Chapel with private burial following service. Viewing will be held today beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

I wish I had gotten to know Jalin better this year as his teacher at RV, but sadly I didn't get enough time with him. His first writing assignment this year was to write about how others saw him and what they were missing, and he was concerned that others wouldn't see his intelligence. I did see it, in his contributions to class discussions, in his writings, and in the light in his eyes. I know senior year was hard for him in some ways, and he wasn't in class much, but I'm glad I got to spend some time with him, and I'm truly devastated by the news of his loss. I sincerely hope that if I can do anything for his family, someone will let me know. I will miss Jalin and remember him as a bright, funny, and unique young man.

Ms.Summerson,
I wanted to express my condolences, again, for the loss of your son Jalin. My heart sank when I heard the news of his passing. Like so many others, Jalin really had an impact on my life as a person, mom, and teacher.

I was privileged to be his 3rd grade M.A.T. as well as his 4th and 5th grade teacher. He brought so much color to our world at the Center for Inquiry--Jalin loved to laugh, dance, play sports, and he had such a love for science (and animals). My favorite memory of him was in 3rd grade when I bought in a green lynx spider--he was so fascinated with it and wrote about it in our science journal every day. He was especially excited when he noticed an egg sac and hundreds of baby spiders that hatched from it. I loved him for his curiosity and for how hard he worked with my in school and after school.

My prayers will continue to be with you and please know that I will never forget the impact that Jalin had on my life. God bless you!

I remember Jalin Palmer as a student at the Center for Inquiry and Spring Valley schools. As an elementary student he was mischievous and full of energy. He was usually wearing a wonderful smile. Since CFI was such a small school we were close to the students and were a family. At Spring Valley, Jalin had grown into a more reserved young man, but with friends he was funny and loyal. My daughter and some other Spring Valley students knew Jalin from their days at CFI. We are all hurt by his passing. We have been laughing about some memories and crying over the loss.
To all of Jalin's family, we pray that the Lord will help you during this tragic time.
