Paul Gauche Obituary

Paul James Gauch‚ Sr. CHAPIN - Paul James Gauch‚, Sr., 62, husband of the late Beverly S. Gauch‚, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013, surrounded by family and close friends. Surviving him are children Paul James Gauch‚, Jr. and fianc‚ Melissa DePalma of Cayce, SC and Allison Suzanne Gauch‚ and companion Thomas Varno of Chapin/Wilmington, NC; sisters Lynn Gauch‚ of Mesa, AZ and Jean Gauch‚ (Suzanne Taylor) of Camano Island, WA; brother Thomas Gauch‚ of Bellevue WA; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs. Paul was predeceased by his beautiful wife Beverly; parents Rodney and June Gauch‚ of Mercer Island, WA; and brother Jon (Nancy) Gauch‚ of Key Colony Beach, FL. Paul was born in Yakima, WA in 1950. He lived in Washington until 1961, when the family moved to Arlington, VA. Paul had many adventures traveling around the United States eventually falling in love with the south and the water. Paul worked at the U.S. Department of Labor for 34 years, retiring in 2007. During his time there he met his wife Beverly. After marriage, Paul and Beverly moved to Chapin to raise their children, Paul Jr. and Allison, where he has remained since. Paul was close to his family and many friends with whom he enjoyed boat rides on Lake Murray and relaxing days on the water. Paul was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church where he met many wonderful people. The wake will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main St., Newberry, SC 29108 from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, July 8, 2013, at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Ave, Chapin. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Paul J. Gauch‚, Sr. Fund, Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Ave, Chapin, SC 29036. Paul and Allison, Roger and I are very sorry to hear about your Dad and Mother. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I thought a lot of both parents and enjoyed working with them at LMPC.

So sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He was a fine man and like a second son to my parents in the 60's. He will be greatly missed. Cookie Johnston and Bill Morgan
