Clinton S. Dennis COLUMBIA- Funeral service for Clinton S. Dennis, 90, of Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Park Street Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Lawrence Dennis. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Riley Bible Class. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo is assisting the family. Mr. Dennis was a lifelong member of Park Street Baptist Church and a member of the Riley Bible Class. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army and also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Mr. Dennis had retired as a Medical Administrative Assistant from the Veterans Administration Hospital. He also had retired from the State Department of Social Services. Mr. Dennis was a Mason and Past Master of Shandon Mason Lodge #370. Mr. Dennis died Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late Ivan and Isla Graham Dennis. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth G. Dennis; brother, Sam Dennis of Charlotte, NC; sister, Caroline Davis of Columbia; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Dennis, Harmon Dennis, Ervin Dennis; and sister, Ethel Ellison. Memorials may be made to Park Street Baptist Church, 2204 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
