Margaret B. Simmons COLUMBIA - Services for Margaret B. Simmons will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Northminster Presbyterian Church (6717 David Street, Columbia) with burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home (2930 Colonial Drive) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Margaret Louise Bell Simmons was born in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Melvin W. Bell, Sr. and Margaret Louise Deese Bell. She passed away on January 14, 2014 at the age of 76. She was educated in the Cabarrus County School System, graduating from Logan High School. She graduated from Barber Scotia College with a degree in education. She married the late Captain Isiah Simmons. For 30 years, Margaret was a dedicated Richland County District One school teacher. And was a member of Northminister Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Hurley L. Bell, Melvin W. Bell Jr., and Clinton E. Bell, and; eldest son, Isiah Simmons, Jr. Margaret is survived by her children, Larry D. Simmons, Jacquelyn S. (Charles) Mason, Frederick E. Simmons and Ernest K. Simmons; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-la; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
