Bobby Branham WINNSBORO - Graveside services with military honors will be held for Norman Bobby Branham at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October, 1, 2013, at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery, 16 Smyrna Road (off Hwy. 34), Elgin, SC. The Reverend Jerry Branham will officiate. The family will received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, at Pope Funeral Home. Mr. Branham passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2013, after a long illness due to renal failure. Son of the late Norman and Daisy Branham, he was born on February 10, 1925, in Kershaw County. He proudly served with the 3rd Battalion 397th Infantry US Army in Rhineland and Central Europe during World War II as an antitank gunner and was awarded the Bronze Star Service Award, World War II Victory Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. Before retirement, he was a skilled carpenter and contractor and operated his own business, Branham Construction. He is survived by three children, Rhetta (Ray) Edwards of Winnsboro, Linda-Lynn (Rev. Jerry) Branham of Winnsboro, and Bobby (Lynn) of Chapin; one brother, the Reverend Ralph (Elaine) Branham of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Jennifer Edwards of Cheyenne, WY, Julie (Matt) Goguen of Irmo, SC, and William (Anne) Key of Taylors, SC; four great-grandchildren, Kali and Will Jackson of West Columbia, and Lyndi and Maelyn Goguen of Irmo; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Branham was predeceased by his stepmother, Cleo Branham; one grandchild, Tiwanna Edwards Beasley; one great-grandchild, Kyle Beasley; one brother, James "Byrd" Branham; and one sister, Margaret Asbill. The family offers special thanks to the staff of Palmetto Richland Dialysis, ER, 6 West, Pulmonology, Fairfield Fresenius Dialysis Center, and Tanglewood Nursing Home in Ridgeway for their care during Mr. Branham's illness.
