Rounder Saverance TIMMONSVILLE Rounder Saverance, 67, died after a brief illness on Monday, December 9, 2013. Funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home 4210 W. Palmetto Street. Interment will follow in Fair Hope Cemetery, Lynches River Road, Lamar. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) Dec. 11, 2013, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Don and Donna Saverance. Mr. Saverance was born in Florence County, the son of the late Warren G. and Rebecca Moore Saverance. Rounder was the Vice President of Pee Dee State Bank for 35 years, after which he was hired as a Vice President of the Citizens Banks where he was instrumental in the formation of the new bank location in Timmonsville. He was a graduate of the USC School of Banking, UNC School of Banking, Louisiana State University and Harvard School of Banking. He was associated with Layton-Anderson Funeral Home for a number of years and most recently as a partner. Rounder was a member of the Benton Lodge No. 26, Shriners, member of FMU Foundation Board of Directors, Chairman of Florence County Health Board, a member of the Florence County Transportation Committee, past President of the Timmonsville Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Timmonsville Rotary Club. Rounder was associated with NASCAR, and was also a member of American Power Boat Association. Surviving are: a brother, Don Saverance and his wife Donna of Lamar; three sisters, Beverly Saverance, of Lamar, Jean Singh, of Spartanburg, Rebecca "Bookie" D'Alessandro and her husband Carmine of Lexington; a niece Shay Singh; a nephew Mike Leviner; a great-niece Rebecca Leviner and his faithful canine companion "Buddy".
