Sue Richey Madden CHAPIN - Sue Richey Madden, affectionately known to many as Muzzy, was called home to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Born in Piedmont, SC, May 21, 1952, she grew up in the Thornwell Children's Home in Clinton, SC. Those who had the good fortune of knowing Sue know what a special person she was to so many. Sue dedicated her life to loving and serving the Lord and that was apparent in all that she did. She was an active member of the Chapin community, especially at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. Sue served as the Executive Director of GOoD Works, a non-profit dedicated to helping others in Chapin and the surrounding areas. Whether she was organizing a donation drive for the people of Chapin or giving the blessing at a friend's wedding, her pleasant smile and kind heart were always a welcome presence. Sue fought a courageous battle against Breast Cancer with strength and grace, and her positive attitude served as a testament to her relentless faith. Sue continued to send her Praise Reports, which were an inspiration to the hundreds of people who received them, up until entering the hospital in July. Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman "B" Madden. She is survived by her children, Bryan and Mary Wylie Madden, Meg and Brandon Liles, David and Jenna Madden; her seven grandchildren, Jack, Cam, Banks, Sophie, Lillie, Cooper and Pearson; and a host of other family and friends whose lives she has touched along her journey. Her family, friends and the entire community of Chapin will mourn her loss while rejoicing in the fact that she is celebrating with her Lord and Savior and reunited with "B." A celebration of Sue's life will be held Friday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sue's memory to GOoD Works, PO Box 266, Chapin, SC 29036. Please sign the online guestbook at www.dunbarfunerals.com. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
