Vicki Jean Bateman LEXINGTON Graveside service with U.S. Navy honors for Vicki Jean Bateman, 60, of Lexington, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vicki's honor to the Disabled American Veterans, 4600 Park Road, Ste. 100, Charlotte, NC 28209. Vicki passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Born March 20, 1954, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Warren A. Bateman, Sr. and the late Eugenia Brown Bateman. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many who served her county proudly for 12 years in the United States Navy, and then joined the ranks of disabled veterans. Surviving are her father, Warren Bateman, Sr.; brothers, Warren "Alex" Bateman, Jr. (Deborah), Ron Bateman (Debbie), and Max Bateman (Diane); and many loving nieces and nephews.
