Augustus Boland Obituary
Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Augustus Massebeau Boland Sr. and Lillian Boatwright Boland. Dr. Boland was owner/operator of A.M. Boland Jr., DMD in Barnwell. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Springfield United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Myrick Boland of the home; daughters, Mish B. (John) Nichols of Charlotte, NC, and Lillian M. Boland of Columbia, SC; sister, Louise B. (Dr. John R.) Ross of Springfield, SC; brother, Bobby Boland of Camden, SC; grandchildren, Sloan, Shea and Whaley.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Boland's passing. Growing up on Jackson Street, he was our long-time family dentist. I have fond memories of peeking in from Dr. Khan's office next door where mama worked. He will be greatly missed - my deepest sympathy to all Mr. Gus' family and staff.

tom and our familly will truly miss coming to barnwell to our dentist since 1989.....our family was so saddened by his loss....may God be with his friends, employees and family...everytime we smile we will think of our awesome dentist and how he took such good care of us.....

I first met Gus when he and I were students at Wofford, then at MUSC while we were in dental school. I fondly remember Gus and his family at a dove shoot in Springfield in the early '70s. He had a fantastic family that he was very close to. I truly will be saddened by his loss.
