Dear Amy and Tim,I was one of the nurses in the NICU that took care of your baby.I am so sad to hear of his passing. My heart breaks for you.My husband passed away last year,so I know there is really nothing anyone can say or do to ease the pain.I found comfort in a few Bible verses and maybe they can help you. They are:I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, and - We know that all things work together for good to them who love the Lord.I will be praying for you ,and hope that memories of him will one day fill your heart and ease some of the pain. My heart aches for your loss. There are no words ... only the living word is sufficient in these times. 24 The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
This the blessing has always given me comfort during the most difficult of times. It is my prayer that in time, it will also give you comfort.

I didn't get to know Brooks that well but I felt like I did through his proud, doting grandparents (Susan and Michael) and the big smiles on their faces whenever they talked about him. He fought hard from birth to stay and spend even this short time with his mommy and daddy and family and friends. Now your sweet little boy and his doggie can rest in peace. Lots of love to all of you.
