Daniel Schussler Obituary

Daniel Schussler IRMO - A funeral service for Daniel Schussler, 64, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Schussler died Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Born in Montrose, Missouri, he was a son of the late Omer Henry and Roseann Lichtenhauer Schussler. He was a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Missouri. In July 2012, Dan retired, following 31 years of employment, from the USDA as Chief Operating Officer of Livestock and Grain Market News over North and South Carolina. While employed with the USDA, he traveled to Russia to assist in creating a livestock program. Dan was an avid toy collector who attended toy shows and enjoyed internet buying and selling. He also enjoyed photography and woodworking. He was very patriotic and a follower of national politics. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Alexandria Wilson Schussler; a son, Triston Schussler (Melissa); daughter, Colleen Twentyman (Will); grandchildren, Tyler and Brannon Schussler. He is also survived by a sister, Patricia Bristow and brother, Donald Schussler. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Janet Schussler.
