Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late James Baker and the late Vinie Davis Baker. Mr. Baker was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and had retired from SONOCO. He was a member of Bishopville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Watts (Bernie) of Bishopville; two brothers, Willard Baker (Ella Jane) and Louis Baker (Thelma), both of Bishopville; four sisters, Alva Dority and Nell Keely, both of Sumter, Sara Godwin of Bishopville, and Ruby Jean Parker (William) of Bethune; one grandson, Rusty Watts (Misty) of Bishopville; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Huntley, McKenzie Watts and Bryce Watts.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. B.R. Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hancock- Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3297 Camden Hwy.
Memorials may be made to Bishopville Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 263, Bishopville, SC 29010.
Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home of Bishopville is in charge of the arrangements.
