Paul Taylor Lowrance COLUMBIA - Paul Taylor Lowrance, 43, of Columbia, SC, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 as a result of a tragic moped accident. Paul was born on July 9, 1970 in Tallahassee, FL, but spent most of his life in Columbia. He attended Dreher High School, followed by graduation from Perkiomen Prep School in Pennsburg, PA, where he was active in numerous school organizations, sports, and as a theatre tech. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbia. He attended Georgia Southwestern University in Savannah, GA, followed by many successful years working in the hospitality industry in Columbia and on the SC coast. His business interests also included the management of moped rentals and sales in Columbia and Myrtle Beach. Paul was an avid Gamecock fan, and enjoyed water sports, golf, and his beloved dog, Roy. He was a warm-hearted, gregarious man who loved life and lived it to fullest. He was blessed and surrounded throughout his life by many wonderful friends. Paul had a generous and loving spirit which led him to donate his organs at death so that others might live. He is survived by his parents, Barbara Lowrance Hughes and Michael Lowrance; his brother, Steve Lowrance; his aunt and uncle, Jane and Ross Carter; and cousins Mike, Scott and Jim Carter all of Tampa, FL. A service in loving memory of Paul will be held in Smith Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, 1422 Washington St, Columbia, Sunday, September 8th at 2 p.m. Following the service his ashes will be interred in the Churchyard, and the family will receive friends in the Atrium of Jackson Hall.
