Peggy Drafts Sessions

Peggy Drafts Sessions WEST COLUMBIA - Peggy Drafts Sessions, 80, of West Columbia, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Born May 20, 1932, in Lexington County, she was a daughter of Claude R. Drafts Sr. and Croney A. Drafts. Peggy attended Mount Hebron United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting and following her Clemson University Football Tigers each fall. Most importantly, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and tireless volunteer in local community activities. Her service to the local and international community included over 15 years as a volunteer with the Lexington Medical Center and contributing over 2000 crocheted pew doll caps that were given to children in southwest Asia through the Children's In-Mission Ministry. Mrs. Sessions was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Sessions Sr., her son, Gerald Wayne Sessions, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Swafford Sessions. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Sessions, M.D., her son, William T. Sessions Jr., and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Thompson Sessions; grandchildren, Gerald Hendrex, James Hendrex, William T. Sessions III, Michael Patrick Sessions, Robert Gerald Sessions (and their spouses, Hiromi Sessions, Mindy Drewing Sessions and Kathy Sickinger Sessions); and great-grandchildren, Kiley and Evan Sessions. Survivors also include brothers, George R. Drafts, and Claude R. Drafts Jr., and sister, Sylvia Marchant. A memorial service will be conducted for Mrs. Sessions at Mount Hebron UMC at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013. Mount Hebron UMC is located at 3050 Leaphart Road in West Columbia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sessions Nursing Scholarship at the Lexington Medical Center Foundation at 2720 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169.
