Barney William Trotter BATESBURG-LEESVILLE - Barney William Trotter, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. David Waganer and Dr. Elton Dunbar officiating. Pallbearers will be Jamie and Neil Smith, Patrick Marvin, Coy Smith, Billy and Randy Cockrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Smith, Larry Riggs, Jimmy Trotter, Barney Matthews, Davis Taylor, Dave Reese, Buck Feaster, Buddy Bostian, Don Hall, Dick Holstein, John Mitchell, Jimmy Rawl, Lester Hite, Mike Taylor, Milton Shealy, Rick Anderson, Odel Barnes and Woody Powell. Mr. Trotter was born in Saluda County, son of the late Bobbie Eugene Trotter and Allie Mae Matthews Trotter. He was married to the late Diana Paige Trotter. He was the owner of K&M Auto Sales Dealership, the oldest car dealership in Batesburg. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg. He was a former member of Ponderosa Country Club. Mr. Trotter enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his cats, playing golf and selling cars. Surviving are his daughters, Barnette T. Scott, Jackie Warren (Walter) Smith, June T. (Larry) Riggs, Angel T. Marvin; sister, Annie Mae T. Cockrell; grandchildren, Ronette (Jimmy) Trotter, Dawn Watkins, Harlyn Warren, Jamie (Jenny) Smith, Neil (Lisa) Smith, Patrick William Marvin; great-grandchildren, Will, Carrie and Allie Trotter, Kaylyn Warren, Andy and Coy Smith, Raegan and Rivers Jake Smith; other family members, Barry and Julie Meeks, Pam (Davis) Taylor; special friends, Kelly and Spencer Terrell; and special caregivers, Avis and Victor of Synergy Home Care. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Trotter; and son-in-law, Edward M. Scott. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at his residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Batesburg Building Fund, 436 W. Church Street, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29006.
