Edna Rae Smith Manchester LEESVILLE - Mrs. Edna Rae Smith Manchester, 72, of Leesville, SC, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, June 15, 2014, in the comfort of her home. Born July 5, 1941, in Leesville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Alberta Waters Smith and Arthur C. Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vernell Carver, and brother, Drayton Smith. Surviving siblings are Magdeline (Carl) Price, P.L. (Carolyn) Smith and Rafetta Buzhardt. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James B. Manchester, and their children, Linda (Ed) Lundeen, Jeff (Barbara) Manchester and Billy Manchester. She was Nana to six surviving grandchildren, Eddie Lundeen, Betty Manchester, Laura Lundeen, Mary Manchester, T.J. Lundeen and Rebeca Manchester, and one great-grandchild, Trey Lundeen. She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Edna ran an at-home daycare for over a decade, caring for countless children. She was also an avid quilter up until her final week of life, making a number of quilts for members of her family. She and her husband, James, assisted their youngest son, Billy, in a clothing sales business at flea markets in the Columbia area for more than a decade. Service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Barr Price Funeral Home in Batesburg-Leesville. There will be a visitation with the family after the memorial service.
