Osborne Hudson CAMDEN - Funeral service to celebrate the life of Osborne "Ozzie" Haskell Hudson will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, with burial following in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. James Barnhill will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 17, from 6:00 til 7:30 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 1315 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020 or to the . Osborne "Ozzie" Haskell Hudson passed away June 15, 2014, in Kershaw Health. Born May 24, 1931, in Camden, SC, he was the son of the late Jennie Outlaw Zemp and Howard Haskell Hudson. Ozzie was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, where he served as usher and senior warden, He was also a member of the Camden Jaycees, the Golden Club and the Kiwanis Club as well as other organizations. Ozzie enjoyed an active life, earning his pilot certification at age 16 and logging in more than 200 hours of flight time. He also enjoyed sailing his Hobie, waterskiing and playing tennis. Ozzie proudly served his country in World War II as a paratrooper with the 11th Army Airborne and as an artillery instructor. After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy in 1957, he was the pharmacist and owner of City Drug Company for fifty years. Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Mary Floyd Hudson, a daughter, Janet Elaine Hudson of Irmo, sisters-in-law, Esther Floyd Bennett and Sarah Floyd Elliott, special niece and nephew, Kelly Elliott Delk (Gene) and McKinnon Elliott, and several great nieces and a great nephew. The family wishes to thank Dr. Carl Kearse, the nurses at Kershaw Health, and David Knight, his caregiver. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
