Carnell "Connie" Cribb Gladden MYRTLE BEACH - Carnell "Connie" Cribb Gladden, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her home in Myrtle Beach. She was born February 26, 1929, in Georgetown County, SC, a daughter of the late Charlie Anderson and Nettie Baxley Cribb. Connie graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in Pleasant Hill, SC. After high school, she attended Columbia Business College and graduated in 1947. Shortly after graduating she met Kenneth "Ken" T. Gladden, Sr. and married him in 1948. They have been happily married for sixty-five years. Connie and Ken moved to Hemingway, SC, in 1965 where they made a home and raised their four sons. For many years in Hemingway, Connie was the librarian at the Town Library. In 1980, Connie and Ken moved to the Grand Strand Area and made a home in Myrtle Beach for the last thirty-five years. Connie worked as a receptionist for Dr. Phillip Render until her retirement. Connie was in fellowship at Believers Bible Chapel, Longs, SC. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts and designing things. She loved music, especially piano, and loved to sing. She spent lots of time with her friends and she was loved by so many people. She was a wonderful Mother, full of wisdom and love for her husband, her four sons, and the rest of her family. And above all, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Through her faith in the Lord Jesus, she was able to love unconditionally and unselfishly. She often shared the verse from Philippians 4:6-7 - "Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Connie was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Mable C. Owens, Bertha Mae Altman and Ila Cribb; and her brother, Jettie Cribb. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth T. "Ken" Gladden, Sr.; her four sons, Kenneth T. (Ted) Gladden, Jr. and wife, Sarah, of Columbia, SC, David A. Gladden and wife, Sandra, of Fountain Inn, SC, Mark A. Gladden of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joel N.
