Jackie Case WINNSBORO - Mr. Jackie Howard Case went home to be with his heavenly father on Monday, July 21, 2014, in Ralph Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Charleston. He passed away after having brain trauma injuries from a fall. Funeral service for Mr. Case will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Winnsboro, officiated by the Rev. Steven Bouknight and Rev. Mark Chapman. Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Pope Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Born March 19, 1940, in Chester, S.C., he was a son of the late Furman Charles and Hattie Dixon Case. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Judith Price Case, two daughters; Shannon Case and Jacqueline Case, both of Winnsboro, one brother, Jerry (Marlene) Case of Myrtle Beach, three sisters, Rosalie (Bobby) Adams of Great Falls, Ogreeda (Glenn) Gowan of Spartanburg, Barbara (Mac) Graham of Columbia, and one sister-in-law, Pansy Case of Great Falls. He is also survived by an adopted son, David (Ivie) Roberts of Winnsboro, and adopted granddaughter, Miss Mary Grace Windham of Columbia. We cannot forget his grand Cat, Beaux Beaux Case. Mr. Case was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Case, a nephew, Charles Royster, and two nieces, Karen Case and Laurie Royster. Mr. Case believed in a good foundation in education and was an avid reader. He graduated from Great Falls High School and attended the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, and the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Even retiring at an early age, he received his CDL license from York Technical College and completed computer and small engine courses at Midlands Technical College. Mr. Case was an amazing salesman, always ready to make a deal. He was in sales management for many years with Belk Dept. stores and Wal-Mart stores. He owned several businesses including The Cash Store, Case and Jack Case Sales. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed off the coast of Cuba during the "Bay of Pigs." He also did several tours in the Mediterranean Sea. Mr. Case was a member of First Baptist Church of Great Falls. He mentored and worked with youth and adults with addiction problems.
