Vera Dell Zeigler Pound SAINT MATTHEWS - Vera Dell Zeigler Pound, 92, widow of Marvin Ernest Pound, of St. Matthews, SC, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, St. Matthews, SC, with the Reverend Robbie Hall officiating. Pallbearers will be Greg Pound, Teddy Pound, Delbert Inabinet, Hayden Inabinet, Bruce Kneece, Corey Grant, Glen Ashe, Jr., and Tim Chappell. Lt. Col. Herron Schrimpf (U.S. Airforce) will serve as honorary pallbearer.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall. Vera was born November 16, 1921, in Calhoun County, SC, a daughter of the late Henry Zeigler and Lilly Mae Staley Zeigler. She retired from Oxford Manufacturing Company, in Columbia, SC, as Product Development Manager and was formerly Assistant Vice President of "Her Majesty" Manufacturing of Mauldin, SC. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Marvin Everette Pound of Lincolnton, NC; a daughter, Jane Inabinet (John Hayden) of St. Matthews, SC; a daughter-in-law, Grace Brickle (Terry), of St. Matthews, SC; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ella Culler (Willie) of Aiken, SC, and Emily Ashe (Glenn) of Cordova, SC. She was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Heyward Pound; a daughter-in-law, Mary Pound; two sisters, Esther Cook and Carrie Mae Zeigler; and three brothers, Henry Zeigler, Jr., Johnny D.
