Margie Young Leaman WHITMIRE - Services for Margie Young Leaman will be held 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 3 at the United Methodist Church in Whitmire. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 6 p.m. 8 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Whitmire. Mrs. Leaman died August 1, 2014, in Hospice of Laurens County in Clinton, SC, due to a recent illness. Born February 21, 1924, in Whitmire, SC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Copeland Young and the late Sallie Gilliam Young. She was married to James Marshall Leaman, the love of her life until his death in 2003. She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Harry Samuel Young, Carolyn Young Lake and Thomas Lindsay Young. Mrs. Leaman enjoyed good health up until her recent illness. She was fiercely independent and still enjoyed living at home and driving herself where ever she needed to go. She enjoyed sports her entire life. She was still water skiing in her 40s and playing golf in her 80s. She left behind many, many family and friends who loved her dearly, including the following nieces and nephews Jane Young Ringer (Pomaria), Margie Young Martin (Clinton), Beth Young Grammer (Columbia), Sallie Young Hunter (Greenville), Robert Campbell Lake III (Prosperity), and Samuel Young Lake (Blythewood).
