Burnie Coullette Baxter Montgomery COLUMBIA - Mrs. Montgomery was born April 15, 1906, in Summerton, SC, to the late Steward and Bertha Durant Coullette. She passed away August 27, 2016, at the age of 110. She was educated in the public schools of South Carolina. She was a former homemaker until she moved to Washington, DC, in 1955. She was married to the late Jack Baxter and the late John Montgomery. She is survived by: two sons, Prince (Lucy) Baxter and Henry (Mary) Baxter; two daughters, Anne (Clyde) Chiles and Jeroline (Leslie) Gary; a sister, Mariah Harris, and brother, Loucious Coulette; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 50 great-great grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. The Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016, 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 9300 Farrow Road, Columbia, with burial in the church cemetery. Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences and flowers may be sent by visiting www.bosticktompkinsinc.com.
