Cecil Braddock Obituary

Cecil T. Braddock LEXINGTON - Cecil T. Braddock, of Lexington, died on Friday, May 5, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Born July 15, 1935, in Darlington County, South Carolina, Mrs. Braddock was predeceased by her husband Frank H. Braddock. Mrs. Braddock had retired as an employee of K-Mart and worked for a number of years in the childcare program at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. She is survived by her son, Frank H. Braddock Jr. of Lexington, and his wife, Rose. Mrs. Braddock has four grandsons, The Rev. Zachary Braddock (Brittany) of Columbia, Jesse Byrdic of Jacksonville, Florida, Sgt. Ian Braddock (Kayla) of New Bern, North Carolina, and Lance Cpl. Alex Braddock (Helen) of San Diego, California. Mrs. Braddock also has three great-grandchildren, Braxton, Claire and Edward. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Tadlock of Lenior, North Carolina, and sister, Lynn NeSmith (James) of Darlington. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the staff at Oakleaf Village and Lighthouse Hospice of Lexington for the care of Mrs. Braddock over the past several years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the South Carolina Philharmonic Endowment Campaign, 500 Taylor Street, Suite 300, Columbia, SC 29201. The family will greet friends at Frank and Rose's home in Lexington on Friday evening from 6-8. There will be a graveside service on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington with the Rev. Zachary Braddock officiating, directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home of Darlington. Mrs. Braddock was a loving and supportive wife who traveled with her husband while he was in the U.S. Navy to many duty stations around the world, including Bremerton, Washington; Sasebo, Japan; Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada; Norfolk, Virginia; and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
