WALNUT COVE — Harold Franklin Brown, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday night, July 10, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice home.
He was born November 9, 1932, in Campbell County, VA to George Washington and Essie Bryant Brown, Sr. Harold was retired from Brenner Companies with 37 years of service. Mr. Brown was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove, where he served as Deacon, Cemetery Chairman, and Church Historian. Harold served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
An 11:00 am funeral service was held, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove, with Pastor Jim Cohn officiated. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery with military honors.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife; Lola Richardson Brown, brother; James R. "Jimmy" Brown, half-brother; George Washington Brown, Jr., sister; June Brown Watts, half-sister; Barbara Sue Watkins.
Surviving is his 2 daughters; Sheila Peeler and husband Tim of Shelby, NC, and Shelby Revels and husband Randy of Shelby, NC, 3 grandchildren; Natasha Brown, Billy Peeler, and Tiffany McCrary, and 3 great-grandchildren; Cameron, Carmyn, and Carlee.
The family received friends from 10:00am to 11:00am Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove and other times at the home.
