GERMANTON — Richard "Dick" Terry, age 87, formerly of Morenci, passed away Thursday evening, June 4, 2015 at his home in Germanton, NC. He was born, March 10, 1928 in Lenawee County, MI to Richard C. and Margarite (Jaycox) Terry. He married Bernice E. Keefer on April 22, 1950 in Angola, IN and she preceded him in death on November 13, 2002.
Dick retired from Bohn Aluminum, in Adrian, MI where he was a tool maker for many years. He loved to golf and spending time with his family. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the V.F.W. Lodge in Walnut Cove, NC, American Legion in Morenci, MI and the Ruritan Club in Germanton, NC.
Dick is survived by a daughter, Pamela (John) Gippert of Germanton, NC, two sisters, Susan (Steve) Hauser of West Virginia and Joan Henning of Adrian, one grandson, George (Sara Elizabeth) Sheldon Cleghorn III of Walnut Grove, NC, three great grandchildren, Erica Penn, Ashley and Josiah Cleghorn and a brother in law, William Dinse.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, George M. Terry, a sister, Diana L. Dinse and a granddaughter Brooke Ann Cleghorn in infancy.
A funeral service for Dick was held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Pastor Greg Morrison officiating. Military interment by the Morenci American Legion followed at Lyons Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends was on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
