Lillian L. Bailey, 89, of Godfrey, passed away at 11:27 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

Born Jan. 12, 1924 in Mozier, Ill., she was the daughter of Eugene D. and Lela (Quiller) Hatfield.

She married Donald G. Bailey June 25, 1941 in Louisiana, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2006.

Lillian worked as a secretary for Clay East Supply in Godfrey until her retirement in 1980. She was a proud member of the Godfrey Baptist Church, and took great pleasure in its activities. Lillian also was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are three sons and their wives, Ronald E. and Kathy Bailey of Pittsburgh, Pa., Randolph B. and Nancy Bailey of Rockford, Ill., and Stephen G. and Gay Bailey of Godfrey; 6 grandchildren, Meghan (Chris) Clark, Kaitlin Bailey, Matthew (Courtney) Bailey, Natalie Bailey, Clayton Bailey, and Evan Bailey; and a great grandson, Jack Clark.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hatfield.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
