EAST ALTON - Robert D. Bryant, 76, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born on April 1, 1938, in Wann, Okla., the son of the late Ray C. and V. Marie (Black) Bryant.
He married the former Brenda Angel on Jan. 14, 1972, in East Alton and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters and a son-in-law, Jerri Bryant of California, Lonnie Bryant of Alton, Kristy Gains of Alton, Stacy and Mike Lewey of Bunker Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Kim Bryant of Jerseyville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald Bryant of Cahokia and Freddie and Charlotte Bryant of East Alton all survive.
He was formerly employed at Boeing as a sheet metal mechanical riveter (SMAR) for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In celebration of his life visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 24, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Deacon Mike Hagen will officiate.
