ALTON - Harold M. Duvall, 91, formerly of Edwardsville, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Alton Rehab & Nursing.

Born Sept. 3, 1922, in Foster Township, he was a son of John M. and Esther Dorothy (Hoekstra) Duvall.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he worked as a registered nurse for various hospitals and private practices, mainly in the New York area.

Surviving are three sisters, Dorothy Bertoletti of Alton, Florence (Bob) Brandt of Bryan, Ohio, and Velma (Augie) Schmidt of Wood River; a brother, John A. (Joyce) Duvall of Foster Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Esther Walkington; and two brothers, Alva and Reinder Duvall.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Paynic Home for Funerals, where Pastor Steve Disney will officiate services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23.

Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery, with military honors by Alton VFW Post #1308.
