LOIS LONG
MORO — Lois Long, 82, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 15, 1932, in Grassy, Mo., the daughter of Otto and Blanche (Sample) Kitchen.
She married Ted D. Long on Sept. 15, 1951, in Marble Hill, Mo. He survives.
Lois was a homemaker and a member of the Holiday Shores Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Mark Scroggins of Holiday Shores, and a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sandra Long of Nixa, Mo.; three grandchildren, Brian and Christy Scroggins, Eric Scroggins and Colby Craig and Sydney Long of Nixa, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Kennedy Scroggins, Jacey, Haley, Mason, Nolan and Tyler Scroggins; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Roy Kitchen, and a sister, Dona Mae Kitchen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.
Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Holiday Shores Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Association or BJC Hospice.

Lois was always a great role model at the Meadowbrook First Baptist Church. I know she is presently at peace with our Saviour and enjoying many great awards.
