TOM DOOLEY

LITCHFIELD - Reneh Bennett "Tom" Dooley, 71, died at 12:03 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1942, in Litchfield, a son of Kenneth and Ardeth Belle (Colburn) Dooley.

Mr. Dooley was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW Post #3912 in Litchfield and was a life member of AmVets of Mt. Olive. He retired from Olin Corp. in Alton where he had been employed as a forklift / truck driver. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling and had bowled a perfect game of "300" on Dec. 13, 1995. He was also an avid Cardinal's baseball fan. His first love was always his family and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He married Patty A. Heisman on Mar. 11, 1972, in Staunton. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Chad (Stacey) Dooley, and Brandon (Abby) Dooley and one daughter, Michelle (Jason) Black, all of Litchfield; one brother, Meredith (Maggie) Dooley of Vicksburg, M

five grandchildren, Devin Kindernay; Jeremy and Mackenzi Black; Kelvin and Aryn Dooley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Keith Dooley; one sister

Judith Ziegler. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Doug White, Chaplain of Litchfield Police Dept. will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
