HARTFORD - Robert "Bob" Stanley Langin, 83, passed away 4:45 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Midwest Rehab and Respiratory Center in Belleville.

Born in Mt. Vernon on Oct. 11, 1930, he was the son of Faye and Helen L. (Bancroft) Langin.

A Korean War Army veteran and member of Wood River Masonic Lodge #1062, Bob owned and operated Langin Body Shop in Wood River and Langin Auto Sales before retiring.

Surviving are two daughters, Cathy (Roger) Vargas of Belleville, Karen (Marvin) Smiley of Creve Couer, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Steven, Aaron, Nicholas and Samantha Johnson, Michael (Lindsey) Smiley, Melanie (Brad) Kern, Mark (Allison) Smiley, Kora Smiley; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beverly Baker of Dow, Doris (Don) Winship of Anacortes, Wash.

Preceding in death were his paretns; granddaughter, Megan Smiley; brother, Dean Langin; and stepfather, Kenneth Hofmeister.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m until time of service at 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Kimberly Allen and

Scott Levan will officiate.

Private burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
