ALTON — Juanita Helen Robinson, 85, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Saturday April 18, 2015, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1930, in Alton, Ill., the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Price) Markel.
She married Ray J. Robinson on Nov. 2 1946, in Alton. He survives.
Juanita attended Alton High School, was a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton, and worked at Duke's Bakery. She later was the owner and operator of Robinette Pre-School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Linda and Don Rosenthal of Nashville, Ill., Joyce and Joseph Mormino, of Alton, Ill., and Barbara and Ryan Hanawalt of Cary, Ill.; six grandchildren, Alison (Chris) Maley, Brian Rosenthal, Lara (Rich) Berry, Karen (Greg) Ernst, Lisa (Brian) Fahl, and Sheryl Hanawalt; and one great-grandson, William Maley.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Timothy Markel.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday April 22, 2015, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the 5 A's Animal Shelter or to BJC Hospice.

My Aunt Juanita was a wonderful lady!! I enjoyed the many talks we shared, so easy to talk to and showed such care and compassion toward my family. She always made me laugh and was so kind!! She will be greatly missed! Love, Jamie Watt
