ALTON- Teri L. Stacy Steen, of Alton, Illinois, left this world much too soon surrounded by family in Arlington, Arizona. She passed at the tender age of 57 after a brief illness. Shortly after Teri's passing, a dove landed on the windowsill outside her room for a few minutes; we are certain that was Teri telling us goodbye and that she'd be okay.
Teri is survived by her daughter, Jami, whom she adored possibly more than any mother has ever adored a daughter, and son-in-law, Derek J. Weeks of Alton. Teri also leaves behind her mother, Loretta Gardner of San Antonio, Texas; and two sisters, Mary Taylor of Arlington, Arizona and Sheri Robin of Bandera, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Stacy.
Teri was a lover of all things Disney and we know that she's standing in line waiting to greet Mickey at the Disney World in the sky. Teri's laugh was contagious and even with her gone we can all still hear it. She laughed and joked even when she was in incredible pain and knew she wouldn't have much time left with us.
Teri was a Texan by birth, and she made her exit on our great state's birthday, March 2. She worked her entire life for the Shell/Conoco Phillips refineries in Odessa, Texas and Wood River, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the angels who helped ensure her comfort in her final days - Hospice of the Valley Phoenix, Arizona.
