Krzan, Ellen J. Geroulo - Scott Twp.  
Ellen J. Geroulo Krzan, 72, of Scott Twp., died Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was married to Frank Krzan, who died in 2002. Born in Peckville, daughter of the late Palmer and Whilma Gill Geroulo, she graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Olyphant and retired from Brucelli Advertising Co. She resided the majority of her life in Scott Twp., having moved from Jessup. She belonged to St. John Vianney Parish, Montdale. Surviving are two sons, Paul, Archbald; and Kevin and wife, Jennifer, Jessup; two daughters, Tina Merrifield and companion, Mike Ratay, Jessup; and Mari Potis and husband, Frank, Clarks Summit; two brothers, Judge Vito Geroulo and wife, Elaine, Scranton; and Thomas Geroulo and wife, Rosanne, Jessup; three sisters, Judy Hulse and husband, John, Ohio; Patricia Kurpis, Jessup; and Paula Denisco, West Pittston; eight grandchildren, Bill and Michael Merrifield, Brianna and Paul Krzan Jr., David and Daniel Krzan, and Dominic and Gabriella Potis; and three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Isabella and Michael Merrifield. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Krzan Jr. The funeral will be Thursday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Parish. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Montdale. Kurmas, Rita Elaine - Dickson City  
Rita Elaine Kurmas, 83, of Dickson City, died Sunday evening at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Shortz Kurmas, she was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School, class of 1949, and a graduate of Marywood College with a BS degree in education. She began her teaching career in the Marple-Newton School District and she retired from the Binghamton Central School District. She was a caring aunt who enjoyed going to the casino and she loved her dog, Dolly. She will be missed by her family and friends. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Susan Maholick, Linda Smolley; John J. Maholick and wife, Kim; Paul Cioffari and wife, Mary, all of Dickson City; Pamela Crocker, New Jersey; and Elaine Kraycar, Scranton; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great-great-niece and great-great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and John Maholick, Phyllis and Jack Cioffari; and an infant brother, Norbert. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Mary's Visitation Church. Kerlin, Dorothy E. - Tunkhannock  
Dorothy E. Kerlin, 89, formerly of Falls, died Aug. 15 at Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock. Born in Falls Twp. on Dec. 12, 1925, daughter of the late Herbert F. and Marie Bender Hunter, she married her late husband, Charlie Kerlin, on July 17, 1944, in Indiana just days before he went to serve our country in Normandy. She worked many years at International Salt Company, Clarks Summit. Dorothy and Charlie enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home until his passing in 2008. Surviving are a daughter, Joann Dean, Pompano, Fla.; a grandson, Jeff Northup, Clarks Summit; a granddaughter, Kathy Davitt, Old Forge; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Arrangements by Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, Tunkhannock.
