Gertrude Flannigan Ignatovich, 96, of Lake Como, Pa., died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank Ignatovich, in 2005. Born Sept. 16, 1917, on the family farm in Lake Como, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Winifred (Leonard) Flannigan. She attended Crooked Creek School and was a 1936 graduate of Pleasant Mount Vocational School. Gert was a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and very active in the Rock Lake Picnic. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, football, baseball and her rides around the area roads. She is survived by her children, Sue (James) Wright, Hancock, N.Y.; and Edward, Paul (Robin) and Rose Ignatovich, all of Lake Como, Pa.; four grandchildren, James (Barbara) Wright, Kristine (Joseph) Barno and Joseph and Katie Ignatovich; three great-grandchildren, James, Patrick and Michael Wright; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gert was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Flannigan; and two sisters, Helen Wrase and Winifred Flannigan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Juliana's Church, Rock Lake, Pa. Interment will follow in St. Juliana's Cemetery. Friends may visit today, April 14, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, N.Y. Memorial donations can be made in Gert's memory to St. Juliana's Cemetery, St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 612 Hudson St., Forest City, PA 18421, for headstone restoration. Lorraine M. Imbt, 69, of Dunmore, died Thursday in Commonwealth Hospice of NEPA after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Willard Imbt, who died in 1992. Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Walter and Helen Maciejwski Kuplinski, she was a lifelong resident of the area, and a graduate of South Catholic High School. She was an assistant credit manager for Jerry's Sport Center, Forest City, before retirement, and most recently worked for Marshall's. She was a member of St. John Vianney Parish. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Surviving are a son, Carl Imbt and wife, Laurie, Jefferson Twp.; two daughters, Sharon Zasada and husband, Ed, Moscow; and Susan Barrows and husband, Steve, Schuylkill Haven; six grandchildren, Gwen, Ian and Cary Barrows, Nicole and Tim Zasada and Natalie Imbt; two brothers, John, Taylor; and Robert, Arizona; two sisters, Catherine Yankanin, Scranton; and Barbara Wiancek, Dupont; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Kurowski. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated April 26 at 11 a.m. at St. John Vianney Parish in the Church of Corpus Christi, Montdale. Arrangements are under the care of the Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home Inc., 1660 N. Main Ave., Scranton. The family will receive friends from 10 until Mass in the church.
