Agnes Ksiazek Beckage, 88, of Peckville, died Saturday at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Blakely. She was the widow of William Beckage, who died in 1995.
She was born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Walter Ksiazek and Henrietta Ksiazek Janowski. She was a graduate of Blakely High School and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Peckville. Before retirement, she was employed by the Billig Shoe Co.
Before her lengthy illness with Alzheimer's, she enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bingo and watching game shows on TV. She was a loving, kind and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the auxilary to Shopa-Davey VFW
Post, Peckville. Agnes went home to be with her Lord.
The family would like to express its thanks to Dr. Tracey Galardi and the staff of B2 at the health and rehab center for their extraordinary care of their mother.
She is survived by two daughters, Carole Alimenti and husband, Richard, Peckville; and Patricia Evankavitch, Archbald; four grandchildren, John and David Grunza; Christopher Newton and Cheryl O'Connor; five great-grandchildren, Alexandra Grunza, Jordyn, Madysin and Ayden O'Connor; and Nicholas Newton; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Michael Wargo Jr. Funeral Home, 812 E. Scott St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, to be celebrated by Monsignor Peter Madus. Interment, St. Cyril's Cemetery, Peckville.
