Alberta N. Lucas

Alberta N. Lucas, 91, of Peckville, died Thursday at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband is the late Paul A. Lucas Sr., who died July 1, 2003.

Born in Peckville, daughter of the late John and Alice Wormuth Morcom, Alberta was a member of the Peckville United Methodist Church. She attended Blakely schools and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pride of the Orient chapter, Peckville.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite times were the ones she spent with her family. She also loved to travel with her husband, and they enjoyed many cruises together.

She is survived by seven children, Paul and wife, Maureen; Earl and wife, Gail; and Ronald and wife, Karen; all of Peckville; Carl and wife, Julie, Blakely; Allen and wife, Theresa, Ormond Beach, Fla.; Lois Lucas, Eynon; and the Rev. Brian and wife, Susan, Paxtonville; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Jean; brothers, Albert T. and Gilbert Morcom; Frank and Russell Miller; John R. and Leonard Morcom; and sisters, Betty Morcom and Vera Washburn.

The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville, with services by the Rev. Brian Lucas, her son, and the Rev. Michael Shambora, pastor of the Peckville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m.
