Alice A. Doherty

Alice A. Doherty of Scranton died Sunday at home following an illness. Her husband of 61 years is Paul V. Doherty.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late, Martin and Marcella Biedczycka Delesky. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Scranton Fabric Co. and previously worked at Parodi Cigar Co.

Alice was an avid sewer and enjoyed quilting. A former member of St. Stanislaus Church and also St. Vincent de Paul Church, she was now a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.

Also surviving are a daughter, Paula Rodgers, Allentown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Hedden, Mary Lubinski and Ann Pallasche; two brothers, John and Frank E. Delesky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
